When have you felt the most relaxed and safe? This is the state we need to be in for the deepest, long-lasting healing. I can help you get there.
Neuroscience Meets Heart, Body, Spirit
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, intelligent, non-invasive, light-touch therapy that calms the nerves, reduces the effects of daily stress, and helps release restrictions that impede your ability to function fully. I focus specifically on the soft tissue, fluids and membranes affecting the sacrum, spinal cord and brain. Recent or past trauma can affect the whole body forming physical and emotional compensations. Once these compensations release, the body shifts away from stress patterns and begins to prefer responses that are geared toward repair and long-term health and well-being. Imagine twigs being removed from a stream so that the water can flow as nature intended.
Emotional Support
As old patterns arise for reorganization, associated memories and emotions can surface. This is sometimes called Somatic Emotional Release. I will support this process and guide you through it if appropriate.
Where Does Craniosacral Therapy Come From?
Craniosacral Therapy has a rich lineage in osteopathic philosophy and technique originating in the early 1900’s. Osteopathy teaches that when physical restrictions are removed in a non-invasive way, the body naturally moves toward balance and health. Due to the generosity of many master teachers, Craniosacral Therapy is now practiced by a wide variety of practitioners including massage therapists, physical therapists, dentists, doctors, occupational therapists and chiropractors.
Benefits Awaiting You
Craniosacral Therapy addresses acute and chronic conditions for people of all ages. While there is research and experiential evidence that Carniosacral Therapy has improved specific conditions, the truth is that we treat the whole person: body, mind and spirit. So you might come in with a stiff neck and your body rhythms will guide me to your sacrum, which may be the core cause of your stiff neck. It often happens that I am working from the feet and the person tells me that their jaw just relaxed, or their headache subsided. Processing your grief from the loss of a loved one may resolve a chronic hip problem. If I had a formula for treating a specific condition, we might never get to the deeper issues, which result in longer lasting effects.
Among the benefits people have experienced from Craniosacral Therapy are:
• Release from the effects of emotional and physical trauma
• Freed energy to face life’s challenges
• Help with TMJ/dental issues
• Relief from neck and back pain
• Reduced headaches
• Relief from depression and insomnia
• Reduced stress response, a calmer nervous system
• Relief from symptoms of traumatic brain injury, PTSD and concussion
• Improved immune system and overall health
• Deeper spiritual connection
• Emotional healing
• Support in facing illness and/or the end-of-life process
• Optimal conditions for conception and pregnancy
